Shelly devices are not Open Source

I own some Shelly IoT devices made by Allterco Robotics. The Shelly 1 is advertised as "Open Source", yet the source code is nowhere to be found on their website.

Some days ago I contacted their support asking for the source code, and at first they responded with links to the scripting documentation and their API documentation.

I clarified that Open Source has a clear meaning; the device's source code must be available. Their response was:

By source code we mean that you can flash the device with custom firmware.

No, this is not open source. Allterco, you are lying.
